What is the Gyeongui Line Forest Park?
The Gyeongui Line Forest Park is a long, narrow green space created when part of the old Gyeongui railway was moved underground. The surface was turned into lawns, tree-lined paths and small plazas that stretch across several neighborhoods in Mapo-gu and beyond. The Yeonnam-dong section, nicknamed "Yeontral Park" by some locals, runs close to Hongik University Station and is lined with cafes, restaurants and small shops.
For many residents and visitors, the park is the calmer side of Hongdae: a place for a morning walk, a coffee on the grass or an evening stroll after dinner.
How do I reach Re:berry Hongdae from the park?
Hongik University Station serves Line 2, the AREX airport railroad and the Gyeongui–Jungang Line, and the Yeonnam section of the park begins near the station. From the park, most of central Hongdae is within walking distance, but the exact route depends on where you are along the path. Use the address on our Location & Hours page with a map app such as Naver Map or Kakao Map. If you are arriving from the airport, see Incheon Airport to Hongdae.
Planning treatments around park days
The park is wonderful for recovery-friendly days, but a few practical points help protect your skin after treatment.
After laser or toning
Open lawns offer little shade at midday. After laser toning or pigment treatments, choose tree-lined stretches, wear a wide-brimmed hat and reapply SPF every two to three hours outdoors. Evening walks are a gentler option during a treatment course.
After injections
Light walking is usually fine after Botox, filler or skin boosters, but avoid strenuous jogging, heavy sweating and lying face-down on the grass on the day of treatment. Our Botox and filler aftercare page has more detail.
After lifting treatments
Energy-based lifting such as ultrasound or radiofrequency typically has little visible downtime, so a gentle park walk afterward is a pleasant way to spend the rest of the day.
Which treatments suit locals near the park?
- Sun-related concerns: Freckles, sun spots and uneven tone from time outdoors.
- Glow and hydration: HydraFacial and hydrating boosters before weekend plans.
- Maintenance: Regular skin Botox or toning sessions, easy to fit in when you live nearby.
Seasons on the park and your skin
In spring, cherry blossoms and fresh greenery draw crowds, but fine dust and pollen can irritate sensitive skin, so gentle cleansing in the evening helps. Summer brings high UV and humidity, which may increase oiliness and pigment. Autumn is a popular time to begin pigment or laser courses, as UV levels drop and the weather is comfortable for walks. Winter is dry and cold along the open paths, which makes hydration-focused treatments and a richer moisturizer especially useful.

Can I go for a walk in the park after a laser treatment?
A gentle walk is usually fine, but protect your skin carefully. Choose shaded paths, wear a hat and broad-spectrum SPF 50, and avoid long periods in direct midday sun. Treated skin can be more sensitive to UV for days to weeks, which may raise the risk of pigment changes.
