Re:berry Clinic Hongdae

Why does Re:berry start with a consultation?

Re:berry's philosophy is diagnosis before packages. Two people asking for the same treatment may need very different plans, because what looks like a wrinkle, a dark spot or sagging can come from different causes. A consultation lets a doctor understand your skin, health history and goals before recommending anything. It also follows good medical practice: aesthetic treatments are medical procedures, and decisions should follow a doctor's assessment.

The same consultation and treatment standards apply at every Re:berry branch, so the process below reflects how the network works.

What happens at a consultation?

Step 1: Check-in and questionnaire

When you arrive, you will be asked to fill in a form about your health, medications, allergies, pregnancy or breastfeeding, previous aesthetic treatments and the concerns you want to address. Be as complete as possible; details such as recent isotretinoin use, blood thinners or a history of keloids can change what is safe.

Step 2: Skin assessment

Your skin may be photographed or analyzed under consistent lighting so the doctor can see pigment, redness, texture and pores more clearly. These images also make it easier to compare progress later.

Step 3: Doctor consultation

The doctor examines your face, asks about your priorities and explains what is causing the concerns you see. This is the time to ask questions. A good consultation covers:

  • What is realistically achievable for you
  • Which treatments may help and why
  • Expected downtime, side effects and risks
  • How many sessions are typical and how results tend to change over time
  • Alternatives, including doing less or nothing for now

For a list of useful questions, see What questions should I ask at a consultation?

Step 4: A combination plan

Rather than one procedure, Re:berry typically designs a combination of treatments aimed at stable improvement over time. For example, someone with melasma and dullness might be offered pico toning, a booster course and home-care guidance, while someone with jowls might be offered energy-based lifting with a small amount of filler. The plan explains the order and spacing.

Step 5: Written quote

Pricing depends on area, shot count and plan. It is confirmed in writing at consultation, so you know what is included before you agree. Ask about anything that is unclear, such as numbing, follow-up visits or touch-ups.

Step 6: Decide and schedule

You can proceed the same day if the treatment and schedule allow, or take time to think. Some procedures, especially fillers, threads or combination plans, may be best scheduled for another day so you can prepare.

What should I bring?

  • A list of medications and supplements, including blood thinners and herbal products
  • Details of past fillers, threads, lasers or surgery, with dates if possible
  • Photos showing concerns that vary through the day
  • Your passport or ID if you are an international patient
  • Glasses or contact lens case if you may have eye-area treatment

How does language support work?

Re:berry offers multilingual consultation support for international patients. For the Hongdae branch, confirm which languages are available when you book. If you prefer, you can bring a friend who speaks Korean, and written aftercare instructions help reduce misunderstandings. See Interpreter and Language Support.

Booking from abroad

If you are traveling to Seoul, it helps to share your concerns and travel dates in advance so the team can suggest a realistic schedule. Some plans can be outlined before arrival, but a doctor must still see you in person before treatment. Read Booking from Abroad for details.

How is a consultation different for follow-up visits?

Return visits are usually shorter. The doctor reviews how your skin responded since the last session, compares photos where available and checks for any side effects. Settings or products may be adjusted, and the plan can change if your priorities have shifted. If you started treatment at another Re:berry branch, bring any records or notes you have so the Hongdae team can continue consistently.

What a consultation will not include

A consultation is not a sales pitch for the largest package. You should not be pressured into same-day decisions, offered guaranteed results or shown testimonials as proof. If you hear claims like these anywhere, treat them with caution. A careful doctor will also tell you when a concern is better handled by another specialist, for example a suspicious mole that needs dermatology review or a case that may need surgery.

What if I am unsure after the consultation?

That is normal. You can ask for the plan in writing, compare options and return later. If you only want to start with one step, say so; a doctor can tell you which part of the plan would make the most difference first. A consultation is about informed choice, not pressure.

After treatment

You will receive aftercare instructions, and some treatments include a follow-up check. If anything feels unexpected, such as unusual pain, color change or swelling, contact the clinic promptly. Results vary by individual.

Frequently asked questions

Is a consultation required before treatment?

Yes. A doctor needs to assess your skin and health before any medical aesthetic treatment. Even for simple procedures, a short consultation confirms suitability, settings and aftercare. This is also part of Re:berry's diagnosis-first approach used at every branch. It is also when you can ask about risks, alternatives and costs before deciding.

Can I get treated on the same day as my consultation?

Often yes, if the treatment is suitable, the schedule has space and you feel ready. Some procedures may be scheduled for another day, for example when preparation, numbing time or a longer appointment is needed. Mention your travel dates when booking.

Will I see a doctor or a coordinator?

A consultation coordinator may help with forms, scheduling and pricing questions, but the medical assessment and treatment recommendation come from a doctor. Ask if you would like more time with the doctor to discuss risks or alternatives. You can also ask for the plan in writing to review later.

Can I bring a friend to my consultation?

Yes, many patients bring a friend or family member, especially for language support. Space in treatment rooms can be limited, so your companion may wait outside during procedures. Let the team know when booking. A companion who knows your medical history can also help you remember aftercare instructions and questions to ask.

Before you book

This page is general information, not a diagnosis. Suitability, dose, number of sessions and expected results are decided by a doctor at consultation, and results vary by individual. Possible side effects include redness, swelling and bruising. Pricing is confirmed in writing before any treatment. See our medical disclaimer.
