Ulthera Body is a micro-focused ultrasound treatment that heats deep skin layers on the body to stimulate collagen and tighten loose skin. At Re:berry Hongdae it is used for mild laxity on areas such as the abdomen, upper arms, knees and thighs, and it is often combined with ONDA or Vacumed for cellulite. Results vary by individual.

What is Ulthera Body?
Ulthera Body applies the same micro-focused ultrasound technology as Ultherapy on the face to larger areas of the body. Energy is focused into tiny points at set depths beneath the skin, creating small zones of heat while leaving the surface intact. Over the following weeks, the body responds by producing new collagen, which may tighten and firm loose skin.
It is a tightening treatment, not a fat-loss treatment. That distinction matters when choosing a plan for body contour and cellulite. Learn more on the main Ulthera Body page.
Can Ulthera Body help cellulite?
Cellulite forms when fibrous bands under the skin pull down while fat pushes up, giving a dimpled look. Loose, thin skin makes it more visible. Ulthera Body may improve the appearance of cellulite indirectly by firming the skin, but it does not release fibrous bands or remove fat. That is why Re:berry often combines it with:
- ONDA Body: Microwave energy that targets fat and supports tightening.
- Vacumed: A vacuum and circulation-focused treatment that may help with swelling and fluid retention.
- Revinas: A laser option for the lower body.
Results vary by individual, and cellulite tends to persist to some degree in most people.
Who is a good candidate?
Ulthera Body typically suits adults with mild to moderate laxity, for example after weight loss, pregnancy or with natural aging, who want improvement without surgery. It is less suitable for significant excess skin, which may need surgical options. Treatment is usually avoided during pregnancy, over open wounds or infections, and over certain implants. Tell the doctor about medications and medical conditions.
What to expect during treatment
- Assessment: The doctor checks skin thickness and laxity and may use ultrasound imaging to see the layers being treated.
- Preparation: The area is cleansed, marked and gel is applied. Pain relief options are discussed.
- Treatment: The transducer delivers lines of energy across the area. You may feel deep heat or tingling, especially over bony regions.
- Finish: Gel is removed and you can usually return to normal activities.
Downtime and side effects
Mild redness, swelling and tenderness are common and typically fade within days. Some people feel soreness for a few weeks. Bruising, temporary numbness or welts are less common. Avoid hot saunas and intense workouts for a day or two.
How many sessions are needed?
Many patients have one session and review results after about 2 to 3 months. Some benefit from a second session, and maintenance is often considered once a year. Combination plans with ONDA or Vacumed involve more frequent sessions.
What are the alternatives?
- ONDA Body: Better suited when fat reduction is the main goal; see ONDA Body for body contour and cellulite.
- Vacumed: Often chosen for lower body swelling.
- Surgery: For large amounts of excess skin, surgical options are more effective but involve longer recovery.
How should I prepare for Ulthera Body?
Keep the treatment area free of sunburn, irritation and fresh waxing for a few days beforehand. Wear loose, comfortable clothing on the day so nothing presses on tender skin afterward. Tell the clinic about pain-relief medication you plan to take, any history of keloids, and recent procedures in the same area. If you have a beach trip or swimming planned, mention it, because the doctor may suggest spacing it from treatment.
How long do Ulthera Body results last?
New collagen forms gradually and may continue to improve skin firmness for several months after a session. Many patients find results last around a year or longer, depending on age, weight stability and lifestyle, though natural aging continues. Results vary by individual, and maintaining a stable weight helps preserve tightening.

Frequently asked questions
Does Ulthera Body help with weight loss?
No. Ulthera Body targets collagen to tighten skin, not fat. It tends to suit people near their stable weight who want firmer skin. If fat reduction is a goal, the doctor may recommend ONDA Body or another option alongside healthy lifestyle changes.
Is Ulthera Body painful?
Sensations range from warm tingling to deep, sharp heat, especially over bony areas such as the knees. Pain relief options and energy adjustments can make treatment more comfortable. Tell the practitioner how you are feeling during the session so they can pace treatment accordingly.
Which body areas respond to Ulthera Body?
Response depends more on skin thickness and laxity than on the area itself. Many patients choose the abdomen, above the knees and inner thighs, while others treat the upper arms. The doctor will advise which areas are likely to show meaningful improvement for you.
