Why Gongdeok residents choose Hongdae
Gongdeok is a busy business and residential area in Mapo-gu, known for its office towers, apartment complexes and the famous Gongdeok market food alleys. It is one of the few stations in Seoul served by four lines, which makes it a natural commuting hub. For people who live or work here, Hongdae is close enough for a quick appointment, yet offers a wider choice of cafes and places to relax afterward.
Gongdeok is also a gateway for visitors: AREX trains from Incheon and Gimpo airports stop here, so some travelers staying in Mapo or Yongsan pass through on arrival day. If you are heading to a hotel near Gongdeok, Hongdae is only a short hop further along the same line.
Re:berry already has a Mapo branch in Sangam, and the new Hongdae branch adds a location even closer to central Mapo. The same consultation and treatment standards apply at every Re:berry branch.
How to get from Gongdeok to Re:berry Hongdae
Option 1: AREX
The Airport Railroad all-stop train runs from Gongdeok to Hongik University Station. It is direct and usually the quickest option. Make sure you board in the direction of Incheon Airport.
Option 2: Gyeongui–Jungang Line
The Gyeongui–Jungang Line also connects Gongdeok to Hongik University Station directly. Trains are less frequent than the subway, so check timetables if you are on a schedule.
At Gongdeok, the AREX and Gyeongui–Jungang platforms are some distance from the Line 5 and Line 6 platforms, so allow a few minutes to walk between them if you are transferring from the subway.
Option 3: Line 6
Line 6 runs from Gongdeok toward Sangsu and Hapjeong, both on the edge of Hongdae. Depending on where the branch is located, this may be convenient. See our Hapjeong and Sangsu-dong area pages.
For the exact address and the best exit to use, see Location & Hours.
Fitting treatments into a busy work week
Many Gongdeok office workers look for treatments that do not interfere with meetings the next day. Options often discussed include:
- HydraFacial and LDM, which usually have no visible downtime
- Botox for wrinkles or jaw slimming, with minimal visible signs
- Laser toning, where mild redness typically fades within hours
- Skin boosters, best scheduled before a weekend because of small bumps
Our downtime planner by treatment explains how to time each option.
Combining care with your routine
Re:berry's philosophy is to diagnose first and design a combination of treatments rather than sell one procedure. For residents, this often means a plan spread over several months with regular, short visits. Living close by makes it easier to keep to a schedule, which matters for treatments such as laser toning or skin boosters that build results over multiple sessions.
Things to do near Hongdae after an appointment
If you have time after treatment, the Gyeongui Line Forest Park offers a quiet green walk that actually connects toward Gongdeok along the old railway route. Yeonnam-dong cafes are good for a relaxed coffee. If you have had a laser, wear sunscreen and a hat outdoors. Mangwon Market and the riverside at Mangwon Hangang Park are other easy options if you would like to stay in Mapo for the afternoon before heading home.
