Ultherapy shot counts vary by area and skin. As a general guide, a full face often uses about 300 to 600 lines, the neck around 100 to 200, and smaller areas such as the eyes or brow fewer. At Re:berry Hongdae, the doctor sets the number after assessing skin thickness, laxity and goals.

What is a shot or line in Ultherapy?
In Ultherapy, a shot, often called a line, is one pass of the transducer that delivers a row of tiny focused ultrasound points at a set depth. Different transducers reach different layers, commonly around 1.5 mm, 3.0 mm and 4.5 mm. A full treatment usually combines several depths, so the total shot count is spread across layers as well as areas. Learn more on our Ulthera (Ultherapy) page and the newer Ultherapy Prime.
What decides how many shots I need?
- Treatment area: Full face, lower face only, neck, brow or around the eyes.
- Face size and shape: A larger face naturally needs more lines to cover evenly.
- Skin thickness and fat: Thicker skin or more subcutaneous fat may need more deep lines; thin skin may need careful, lighter coverage.
- Degree of laxity: Mild laxity may need fewer lines than heavier sagging.
- Combination plans: If you are also having Thermage FLX, threads or boosters, the Ultherapy portion may be adjusted.
Is a higher shot count always better?
Not necessarily. More lines can mean more even coverage, but beyond a point additional shots may add discomfort and cost without proportionate benefit. Precise placement at the right depths matters as much as the total number. The doctor's aim is enough energy in the right places for stable improvement. Related questions
How many Ultherapy shots are needed for the jawline only?
Jawline and lower-face treatments often use fewer lines than a full face, commonly around 150 to 300 depending on face size and laxity. The doctor may suggest adding the neck or submental area for a more balanced result. The exact count is set at consultation.
Can I ask for a specific shot count?
You can discuss your preferences, but the doctor will recommend a number based on your anatomy and goals. If you request fewer lines for budget reasons, ask how that may affect coverage. A transparent plan helps you compare options and decide with confidence.
Does Ultherapy Prime use the same shot counts?
Ultherapy Prime uses the same micro-focused ultrasound principle with an updated platform and imaging. Shot ranges are broadly similar, though the doctor may adjust the plan based on the visualization the device provides. Ask how the counts are planned for your face during consultation.
